According to Eurostat, at the end of 2022, maritime transport in the EU accounted for 46% of goods in value terms, and in quantitative terms this share was 74%.
Air transportation in the reporting period provided 26.3% of the export trade flow from the EU in monetary terms. Imports by this type of transport in monetary terms amounted to 15.9%.
Exports from the EU by road transport in 2022 in value terms reached 23.4%, imports – 16.1%.
Rail transport in EU international trade occupied a small share: exports in monetary terms amounted to 1.4%, imports – 1.6%.
Other modes of transport, including pipelines, accounted for 9.3% of exports and 14.9% of imports.
